Job summary

Revoco in the United Kingdom is seeking a Head of IT for a privately run, autonomous product-centric organisation within the Defence sector. Hybrid work, 2–3 days on-site in Bristol; 6‑month contract; SC clearance required; strategic IT leadership with responsibility for IT strategy, operations, infrastructure, cloud platforms, networks and end-user computing.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with defence industry controls and security frameworks is a plus.
• SC clearance or ability to obtain is required.

Job description

This is for a Head of IT, for privately run, autonomous product centric org within the Defence industry (and as such there is a preference for someone familiar with that industry).

It is not a huge function at the moment, but can expect to be growth as they scale rapidly.

Hybrid - 2/3 days a week on-site in Bristol

Need SC in place

Requirement to start in the next couple of weeks

6 month contract

The role is focused on providing strategic IT leadership, developing and delivering the organisation’s IT strategy, and overseeing IT operations, service delivery, infrastructure, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, networks, telecommunications and end-user computing.

There’s also a strong focus on cybersecurity, risk and vulnerability management, governance, disaster recovery and business continuity, as well as driving digital transformation and technology innovation.

You’d also have responsibility for IT budgets, procurement, supplier and contract management, alongside leading, developing and growing the IT team and building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

They’re ideally looking for someone with significant senior IT leadership experience, a strong track record of IT strategy and transformation, experience managing technical teams, infrastructure and cloud services, and good knowledge of security frameworks and best practice. ITIL, CISSP, CISM, CCNA, Microsoft, AWS or similar certifications would also be a bonus.
