Job summary

Great British Energy - Nuclear is seeking a Head of Health, Safety and Environment to lead the HSES function for the SMR project in the United Kingdom. Qualifications

• Proven experience in HSES management in nuclear, energy, or high-hazard industries.
• Good knowledge of safety and environmental legislation in the nuclear sector.
• Proven experience leading HSES teams on large-scale engineering or construction projects.
• Experience with ONR, EA / NRW regulatory bodies.
• Strong understanding of ISO 14001, 45001 frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the HSES team.
• Set professional standards for HSES within the SMR project.
• Maintain and integrate ISO 14001/45001 within the project IMS.
• Oversee HSES professionals across the SMR project and supply chain.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits and permissions.
• Conduct audits and reviews to ensure conformance.
• Provide management information and reporting on HSES matters.
• Deliver RPA and RWA services to the project.
• Develop and deliver HSES training programmes.
• Accountable for budgets and service provision fees.
