The Team

easyJet’s Ground Operations Performance team is at the heart of our operational excellence. You’ll lead a talented group responsible for developing and delivering the strategic agenda for performance metrics, including the integration of AI and advanced analytics into our data initiatives. The team oversees and reports on key areas such as aircraft turnaround, airport schedule inputs, ground handling contractual performance and de‑icing usage across the easyJet network.

You’ll collaborate with colleagues across Ground Ops, Procurement, Flight Ops, Cabin Services, Scheduling and Business Intelligence to drive continuous improvement and operational insight.

The Role

As Head of Ground Operations Performance, you’ll be a key leader in our organisation, reporting to the Director of Ground Operations. You’ll have overall accountability for the Operational Performance Team, managing a group of analysts to deliver high quality data analysis, reporting and actionable insights that support operational decision making and strategic planning. You’ll:

  • Develop and implement strategies that drive AI and data led initiatives within Ground Operations
  • Ensure data is used appropriately and effectively across the department, maintaining data integrity
  • Provide accurate, timely reporting and analysis to support Ground Operations KPIs, promoting advanced analytical tools and techniques
  • Deliver data, reports and insights required by Finance and Ground Operations for contract and supplier management
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders on data requirements, platforms, systems and best practices
  • Provide actionable insights to identify performance gaps, root causes and opportunities to optimise operational processes
  • Collaborate with Ground Operations leadership to define and track strategic performance goals
  • Act as the primary analytics liaison for Ground Operations, working closely with Network Planning, Insights, Safety, Quality and Commercial teams
  • Present performance insights and recommendations to senior leaders and cross functional stakeholders
  • Stay updated on industry trends and analytical methodologies to continuously enhance the team’s performance measurement approach
What we’re looking for:
  • Proven leadership experience managing analysts or performance teams, ideally within aviation or complex operational environments
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in data analysis, visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and performance management systems
  • Deep understanding of ground operations metrics, processes and challenges is highly desirable
  • Understanding of wider operating environment including Airport Operations and ACDM
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex data insights to diverse audience.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives using data driven approaches
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Degree in Business, Analytics, Operations Management, or a related field preferred

Practicalities

This is a permanent role based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and spend 60% of our time per month in the office.
