Job summary

The Dean Trust is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Head of Governance to join our dedicated team. You will lead the Multi-Academy Trust governance framework, working with the Trust Board, CEO, senior leaders and governors to ensure robust governance across all schools.

You will champion board effectiveness, oversee governance reviews, provide strategic governance direction to Trust schools, and collaborate with LGC Chairs to turn the Trust’s vision into practice, including schemes of

Responsibilities

• Champion board effectiveness across the Trust by implementing robust evaluation frameworks, facilitating continuous development, and fostering high-standard governance practices aligned with strategic objectives.
• Lead comprehensive external and internal governance reviews to evaluate compliance, identify structural enhancements, and optimise decision-making processes across all levels of the Trust.
• Providing governance direction and advice to all Trust schools.
• Working closely with the Trust Board, CEO and Local Governing Committee (LGC) Chairs to ensure the Trust's vision is implemented through governance.
• Underpinning governance arrangements, such as schemes of delegation.
• Lead, support and develop the Trust governance professionals so that they deliver an efficient, effective and professional service.

Job description

The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Head of Governance to join our dedicated team at The Dean Trust.

As the Head Governance, you will be a strategic and proactive governance professional leading the continuous evolution of our Multi-Academy Trust framework. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Trust Board, CEO, senior leaders, governors and internal/external governance professionals, to ensure that the Trust has in place sound governance, which will support our schools to flourish.

Key responsibilities:
