Job summary

Outpost is hiring a hands-on Head of Operations in London to own the entire operational stack—from onboarding to treasury and compliance. You’ll design processes, specify internal tooling with engineering, and run the ops playbooks yourself in the early phase.

You’ll hire and grow a small team, but initially you are the team. You’ll work directly with the CEO and founders, shaping what Outpost builds from an operational perspective.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years in operations at fintech, payments, or e‑commerce infrastructure.
• Own a function or a large slice of one — onboarding, merchant ops, payments, or risk ops.
• Experience building processes from zero, not inheriting them.
• Bonus: MoR platforms (Global‑e, Digital River, Paddle), cross‑border tax exposure, or PSP/acquirer operations.
• Comfortable with data — SQL, spreadsheets, dashboards; you measure before you decide.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational stack end to end: onboarding, merchant ops, payments and treasury ops, compliance monitoring, and market launches.
• Design the processes, build tooling requirements with engineering, write playbooks, and run them until ready to hand over.
• Hire and grow a small team, or act as the team in early stretch.
• Work directly with the CEO and founding team and shape the product via operations insights.
• Turn manual processes into documented, repeatable, measurable playbooks and define key metrics.
• Launch new markets with full legal, tax, payments, and operational setup.
