Job summary

George Salter Academy, part of the Ormiston Academies Trust, is seeking an enthusiastic teacher to lead the Food Technology department. You will drive high standards of teaching and learning, monitor student progress with data, and develop schemes of learning from Year 7 to Year 11 to ensure every student excels.

The role also involves coaching and developing staff, ensuring health and safety compliance, and working with pastoral teams to unlock each pupil's potential.

Qualifications

• Lead and manage the Food Technology department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and achievement.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, using assessment data effectively to raise attainment and close gaps.
• Develop and implement engaging schemes of learning that support progression from Year 7 to Year 11 and beyond.
• Foster a culture of high expectations, creativity and continuous improvement.
• Lead, support and develop departmental staff through coaching, mentoring and professional development.
• Ensure the department is well resourced, safely managed and fully compliant with health and safety requirements.
• Work closely with pastoral teams and senior leaders to ensure every student achieves their potential.

Responsibilities
