Job description
The Role

You’ll be responsible for providing business, strategic, technical advice and farm management consultancy to a wide range of farm businesses across the whole of Scotland. You will develop, monitor and report on progress against the Food & Farming strategy for Scotland.

You’ll most likely be based out of Perthoffice, however, for the right individual, we’ll consider any of our rural Scottish offices for you to be based from. Your focus will be in the following areas:

  • To promote and, where necessary, lead on the attendance of the discipline at national, regional and office events and business development initiatives.
  • Be a Food & Farming industry commentator and be able to demonstrate a specific area of industry expertise.
  • Have advanced media and negotiation skills.
  • Have a good working knowledge of specific farm business operations
  • Good knowledge of banking and finance structures.
  • Develop own network of clients and potential clients.
  • Have basic practical farm management skills.
  • Confidence in presenting and public speaking.

The Food & Farming team provides advice on all aspects of farming and food production, rural land use and farm management. Our client base includes farmers, rural estates, public bodies and rural property investors. The team of 9 spread across Scotland, work closely with the other departments in Savills to be able to provide clients with a multi-disciplinary and holistic approach to farming and land management.

The wider Rural division operates across the UK, with a network of 37 offices and a number of estate offices from Inverness in the North to Truro in the South-West. There are 7 Savills offices in Scotland.
