We are seeking a HEAD OF FINISHING to lead our Finishing Department and manage a small, but highly skilled team.

You will find no other business like ours. We are highly specialist and are extremely passionate about our bespoke products. Working with a wide range of projects which include The National Trust, The Vatican and The Royal Household, to name but a few.

We are looking for extensive experience within the joinery or cabinetmaking sector, ideally supported by exposure to an automotive-grade spraying environment. We’re looking for someone who takes real pride in their craft—someone meticulous, organised, methodical, and able to deliver exceptional finishes under tight deadlines.

Commutable from Rugby, Coventry, Lutterworth, Leamington Spa, Northampton, Southam, Long Itchington, Bedworth, Kenilworth, and Solihull

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a small team which also includes an Apprentice
  • Operate a range of spraying equipment, including pump systems, gravity guns, gun wash and sanders.
  • Prepare substrates and apply high-quality top-coat finishes using spray guns; carry out spot priming, colour fading and small remedial brushwork.
  • Deliver top-coat finishes across a full sheen range (3%–90%) in clear and coloured systems.
  • Spray a variety of products including lacquers, Polyester, PU, AC, Pre-cat and water-based coatings.
  • Mix, match and apply stains and tints with strong technical accuracy.
  • Produce high-gloss polished finishes, including abrasive preparation, buffing and polishing using cutting pastes and mops.
  • Carry out hand-finishing techniques including waxing, oiling, traditional polishing and restoration work.
  • Complete on-site snagging and remedial finishing at project handover.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping, stock control and production control within the paint shop.
  • Ensure a safe, clean and well-organised work environment at all times.
  • Take ownership of quality control and uphold high personal standards of workmanship and presentation.
About You
  • Significant experience in paint and lacquer spraying
  • Previous supervisory experience would be highly preferable.
  • Strong background in joinery/cabinetmaking finishing.
  • Highly organised with excellent prioritisation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
