Contract: Interim - 6 Months

Location: Hybrid - London office (minimum 2 days per week)

About the Role

Panoramic Associates are working with a London Borough Council to recruit an experienced Interim Head of Finance to provide leadership and stability during a critical transition period. This is a high‑profile role, reporting into Senior Finance Management, with responsibility for guiding a newly restructured team and delivering key statutory processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Q3 Budget Monitoring process.
  • Finalise Budget Papers for Council and Leadership Team in February.
  • Oversee and support Year‑End Closure.
  • Manage and mentor a small finance team.
  • Provide clear, imperative financial messaging tailored for senior leadership and political members.
  • Challenge assumptions and ensure robust financial governance across directorates.
What We're Looking For
  • Local Government finance expertise – significant, recent experience is essential.
  • Proven track record of leading finance teams (minimum 2‑3 staff).
  • Strong stakeholder management – confident in engaging senior leadership and political members.
