Job summary

A government funded organisation in Oxford is looking for an Interim Head of Finance (Projects) to manage a thorough review of their finance processes. The role, lasting initially 3 months, requires proven project accounting experience, team management abilities, and advanced knowledge in system improvements. Candidates must be fully qualified accountants (ACA/ACCA/ACMA/CIPFA). This position operates on a hybrid basis and is compliant with IR35 regulations.

Qualifications

Job description

RM Recruit are working with a Government funded organisation to recruit an Interim Head of Finance (Projects) for their team. With an initial duration of 3 months, this contract requires the management of an end to end review of the entire finance process to identify challenges and recommend/implement improvements.

Areas for specific focus will include, but not be limited to:

  • Building a review of current the current cloud based finance systems against other ERP products under lie consideration
  • A review of the finance team structure (currently 12 team members) and how it will be required to adapt against the background of forecast business growth
  • Improving on the current MI reporting in place and the accessibility of information
  • Process mapping of the end to end finance lifecycle and improving upon existing internal policies and procedures
  • Meeting with existing team members to identify the challenges they encounter and mentor them through change whilst all key deadlines are met

Alongside proven project accounting acumen. the ideal candidate will have bring experience of team management, systems improvements, redesign of MI reporting and be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA/CIPFA).

This role will operate on a hybrid basis with 2 days per week required onsite. This role will be inside of IR35.
