Overview

Finance is central to the Council’s transformational agenda, and following a review of the Senior Leadership Team, we are seeking two ambitious professionals to join our dynamic team.

As Assistant Director Finance, you will be a key member of our Corporate Management Team, acting as the lead officer for strategic financial management within the Council with responsibility as the Deputy S151 Officer. You will report to the Executive Director Finance & Commercial, supporting in shaping and leading the delivery of financial operations across the Council.

Responsibilities

The Head of Finance oversees all finance functions, including the annual Statement of accounts, budgetary processes, financial reporting and monitoring, procurement, risk, and treasury management. Responsibilities include the provision of financial guidance to senior officers, Members and employees, improving financial processes, and managing the Finance team to build skills and motivation.
