A leading recruitment firm is looking for a Head of Finance to oversee the finance function in a beautiful rural setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for management accounts, budget reports, and supervising Finance Assistants. Excellent communication and strong MS Excel skills are a must.   • Produce and distribute monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Supervise three Finance Assistants, including appraisals.

Recently qualified or part-qualified CIMA, ACCA or equivalent

Location: Haywards Heath, West Sussex

Salary: £42,000 – £45,000 per annum (higher for fully qualified candidates)

Hours:

  • Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00 (09:00–16:00 during school holidays)
  • Office-based role

Important: You must be a driver with your own transport as the site is not accessible by public transport.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and distribute monthly management accounts
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
  • Review nominal ledger coding
  • Generate monthly departmental budget reports
  • Transition the department to electronic record-keeping
  • Manage quarterly VAT returns and annual adjustments
  • Liaise with HMRC and external advisers
  • Maintain asset register for CGS calculations
  • Set up and manage direct debit payments
  • Supervise three Finance Assistants, including appraisals
  • Oversee purchase and sales ledger functions
  • Manage company credit card transactions and reconciliations
  • Review monthly catering and hospitality charges
