Overview
Sandea Wholesale Ltd is seeking a highly skilled, analytical, and forward-thinking Head of Finance to lead the company’s financial strategy, operations, and planning. The ideal candidate will oversee all financial functions, ensure robust financial controls, support commercial decision-making, and guide the organisation toward sustainable growth. This role requires strong leadership, deep financial expertise, and the ability to partner with senior management to drive business performance.
Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals.
- Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Analyse financial trends, risks, and opportunities to guide company direction.

Financial Operations & Reporting:
- Oversee daily finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and payroll.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and reports.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management.
- Ensure timely closing of accounts and adherence to reporting deadlines.

Compliance, Audit & Risk Management:
- Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
- Oversee internal and external audits and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Maintain strong internal controls to prevent fraud and financial misstatements.
- Monitor financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Cash Flow & Budget Management:
- Manage company cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs.
- Monitor spending, cost centres, and budget adherence across departments.
- Ensure efficient working capital management and optimise financial resources.
- Provide regular cash flow analysis and recommendations.

Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure strong performance and professional growth.
- Set clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and support training initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration within the team and across the business.

Business Partnering & Collaboration:
- Work closely with department heads to support commercial and operational decisions.
- Provide financial modelling and analysis to support new projects, supplier negotiations, and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive profitability and business sustainability.

Systems, Processes & Efficiency:
- Review and improve financial systems, processes, and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Drive digital transformation within the finance function, including automation and the use of financial software.
- Ensure proper data security, confidentiality, and compliance in all financial systems.

Strategic Growth & Continuous Improvement:
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and expansion opportunities with financial due diligence.
- Identify areas for financial improvement and implement best practices.
- Champion a proactive, solution-focused approach across all finance activities.
