Sandea Wholesale Ltd is seeking a highly skilled, analytical, and forward-thinking Head of Finance to lead the company’s financial strategy, operations, and planning. The ideal candidate will oversee all financial functions, ensure robust financial controls, support commercial decision-making, and guide the organisation toward sustainable growth. This role requires strong leadership, deep financial expertise, and the ability to partner with senior management to drive business performance.

Responsibilities
  1. Financial Strategy & Planning:
    • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals.
    • Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
    • Analyse financial trends, risks, and opportunities to guide company direction.
  2. Financial Operations & Reporting:
    • Oversee daily finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and payroll.
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and reports.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management.
    • Ensure timely closing of accounts and adherence to reporting deadlines.
  3. Compliance, Audit & Risk Management:
    • Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
    • Oversee internal and external audits and implement corrective actions where necessary.
    • Maintain strong internal controls to prevent fraud and financial misstatements.
    • Monitor financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  4. Cash Flow & Budget Management:
    • Manage company cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs.
    • Monitor spending, cost centres, and budget adherence across departments.
    • Ensure efficient working capital management and optimise financial resources.
    • Provide regular cash flow analysis and recommendations.
  5. Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure strong performance and professional growth.
    • Set clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and support training initiatives.
    • Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Promote effective communication and collaboration within the team and across the business.
  6. Business Partnering & Collaboration:
    • Work closely with department heads to support commercial and operational decisions.
    • Provide financial modelling and analysis to support new projects, supplier negotiations, and strategic initiatives.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive profitability and business sustainability.
  7. Systems, Processes & Efficiency:
    • Review and improve financial systems, processes, and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Drive digital transformation within the finance function, including automation and the use of financial software.
    • Ensure proper data security, confidentiality, and compliance in all financial systems.
  8. Strategic Growth & Continuous Improvement:
    • Support mergers, acquisitions, and expansion opportunities with financial due diligence.
    • Identify areas for financial improvement and implement best practices.
    • Champion a proactive, solution-focused approach across all finance activities.
