Job summary

Capability Scotland is seeking a Head of Finance to lead financial planning, performance analysis, and reporting across the organisation. The role reports to the Director of Finance & Resources and requires collaborating with all management levels to drive data-informed decision making.

The successful candidate will design reports and dashboards, supervise the finance team, and lead the implementation of a new financial system, while maintaining statutory reporting and budgeting processes.

Qualifications

• Experience designing reports and dashboards using Microsoft Office products or other software.
• Ability to extract, manipulate and analyse complex data from varying sources.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain and publish financial performance reports to all levels of organisation management.
• Prepare our annual statutory accounts.
• Guide budget holders in understanding their data and in developing the annual budget and forecasts.
• Liaise with departmental colleagues to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data.
• Improve data availability and financial literacy across the organisation.
• Participate in maintenance and development of costing models for tenders, pricing, establishment, etc.
• Lead the finance team, providing sound information and support to management teams.
• Lead the implementation and development of a new financial system.

Capability Scotland is seeking a Head of Finance who will be responsible for I&E reporting, performance analysis of assigned services and will champion the use of financial data in effective planning and decision making.

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Resources the successful candidate will have solid finance knowledge and experience, who can collaborate with all levels of management.

As a member of our Leadership Team, they will be commercially minded, able to work with both financial & non-financial information and have experience in a variety of modelling, analytical and reporting tools. They will care deeply about quality, have strong attention to detail and be a confident self-starter.

• The ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts to business colleagues.
