Job summary

emap, via Drapers, seeks a Features Editor to manage the editorial team's day-to-day and drive Drapers’ growth strategy. You will plan, commission, write and edit content across print, digital, newsletters and social, signing off pages in the editor’s absence and guiding senior editors.

As a deputy editor, you will chair features planning meetings, lead freelancers, mentor staff, and act as a brand ambassador at events.

Qualifications

  • NCTJ qualification or equivalent journalism training or experience.
  • Experience writing, commissioning, editing and proofreading copy to high standards.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop editorial teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee features content from planning to publication across print, digital, newsletters and social media.
  • Commission freelancers, edit and brief writers to ensure accuracy and house style.
  • Lead monthly features planning meetings and ensure timely delivery with senior editors.
  • Develop and manage a network of freelancers and sign off pages in editor's absence.
  • Represent Drapers as brand ambassador at external events and conferences.
