Job summary

The New Beacon School invites applications for an engaging Head of English to lead and develop an ambitious, academically rigorous English Department.

The successful candidate will inspire pupils and staff, drive excellence in reading, writing, speaking and listening from the Early Years to Key Stage 3, and collaborate across the school to raise literacy standards.

They will also contribute to co-curricular life and pastoral responsibilities, and support safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and inspire the English Department to cultivate a lifelong love of literature, writing and critical thinking across pupils.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the School to promote high standards of literacy in all subjects.
• Contribute to co-curricular activities, events and pastoral responsibilities.
