Are you an accomplished Employment Solicitor looking for your next leadership challenge? Our client, a respected law firm based in Tamworth, is seeking a dynamic Head of Employment Law to lead their thriving Employment team. This is a unique opportunity to play a strategic role in shaping the future of the department and the wider practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Employment Law department, ensuring high standards of client service, supervision, and compliance.
• Collaborate with the senior management team to influence firm-wide decisions and attend regular strategy meetings.
• Drive team performance through effective file reviews, work allocation, and mentoring junior lawyers.
• Maintain a strong personal caseload, achieving annual billing targets (1265 chargeable hours) while ensuring profitability.
• Inspire excellence in legal practice, client care, and business ethics across the team.
• Spearhead the marketing and business development strategy for the department.
• Contribute to budgeting, credit control, and fee recovery processes.
• Proactively cross-sell services and build long-term relationships with clients and referral partners.
• Enhance the firm’s visibility and reputation through outstanding client engagement and sector insight.

About You

• Qualified Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer with at least 4 years’ post-qualified experience in Employment Law.
• Demonstrable experience in both claimant and respondent work, ideally with advocacy exposure.
• A natural leader with the ability to inspire and develop others.
• Commercially astute with a strategic mindset and excellent marketing instincts.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
• Proficient in legal case management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
• Driven by high standards, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering excellent client outcomes.
