Job summary

Checkout.com is seeking a Data Science leader to unify Fraud and Acceptance Data Science teams and drive one strategy for real-time decisioning at payments scale. You will guide model lifecycle, production impact, and collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to ensure measurable business outcomes.

The role is based in London with Checkout.com's hybrid model, and involves leading distributed teams across Europe and Tel Aviv while shaping the future of fintech data science.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of leading Data Scientists who build real-time or high-scale ML products.
• Deep technical judgment across applied machine learning, experimentation, model evaluation and production ML systems.
• Experience taking models beyond notebooks into reliable products with measurable business impact.
• Ability to coach scientists at different levels and challenge senior contributors with credibility.
• Proven success leading distributed teams through change and growth.

Responsibilities

• Set the Data Science strategy across fraud and payment optimization, aligned with the Payment Performance vision.
• Own the end-to-end model lifecycle from problem framing to production performance.
• Improve outcomes across fraud, acceptance and cost with scalable, reliable models.
• Raise standards for experimentation, explainability, monitoring and drift detection.
• Work with Engineering to ensure productionization and platform reliability.
• Lead, coach and grow Data Scientists across Fraud and Acceptance, building future domain leads.
