Job summary

Markel UK is seeking a commercially minded leader to head up the Data, MI, Governance & Oversight function. This role shapes strategic decision-making by turning data into actionable insight, linking performance, customer outcomes and governance across the business.

Reporting to the COO and collaborating with the UK Executive Team, you will lead a growing team and partner with Operations, Risk, Finance and Technology to drive an insight-led transformation.

Qualifications

• Strong track record in data, analytics and performance management.
• Proven ability to translate data into business insight for executives.
• Experience leading data, MI and governance functions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication at senior level.
• Insurance industry experience is highly desirable.
• Experience building insight-led reporting and decision frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the UK Data & MI Strategy and deliver a clear vision for data.
• Create a single trusted view of performance for senior leaders.
• Improve reporting capabilities and executive decision-making through insight.
• Drive adoption of data standards, tools and reporting frameworks.
• Provide leadership to a growing team across data, MI, analytics and governance.
• Partner with senior leaders across Operations, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Underwriting and Technology.
• Build relationships with UK and International stakeholders and translate data into actionable recommendations.
