Socium Recruitment Limited in Manchester is seeking a Head of Data Engineering to own the strategy, architecture and roadmap for a fast-growing online business. You’ll shape the tooling, budget and supplier decisions and report directly to the C-suite.

You’ll bring deep SQL and Azure expertise, lead a team of ten, mentor engineers, and drive the migration from on-prem SQL to Azure while setting standards for data modelling, pipelines and production reliability.

Formación

• Experience leading a data engineering team with strategy ownership.
• Strong SQL and Azure data engineering depth.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and justify investments.
• Hands-on capability to mentor and deep-dive when needed.

Responsabilidades

• Translate business priorities into a data engineering strategy the team can deliver.
• Lead and develop ten people, providing technical direction and mentoring.
• Own architecture and migration from on-prem SQL into Azure.
• Make tooling, investment, and supplier decisions; present to senior leadership.
• Set standards for data modelling, pipelines, quality, governance, deployments and production reliability.
