The Risk IT division manages and mitigates risks within financial markets, focusing on Market Risk, Credit Risk, and Market Data. Market Risk involves assessing and managing risks due to adverse price movements. Credit Risk focuses on evaluating and mitigating risks from borrower defaults. Market Data ensures the accuracy and timeliness of data for risk analysis and decision-making.
Job Purpose:
The Head of Credit Risk IT leads the development, implementation, and management of technology solutions for credit risk management. This role oversees credit risk models, ensures data integrity, and provides strategic direction to enhance credit risk processes. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, compliance with regulations, and driving innovation are key aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
o Develop and execute the Credit Risk IT technology strategy.
o Provide visionary leadership and foster a culture of innovation.
Technology Development and Implementation:
o Oversee the design and implementation of credit risk models and systems.
o Integrate advanced analytics and machine learning techniques.
Data Management and Integrity:
o Ensure the accuracy and reliability of credit risk data.
o Maintain and enhance credit risk databases.
Risk Assessment and Reporting:
o Develop comprehensive credit risk reporting frameworks.
o Provide timely and accurate risk reports.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
o Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
o Adapt to regulatory changes.
Team Management and Development:
o Lead and develop a high-performing Credit Risk IT team.
o Manage resource allocation and project prioritization.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
o Collaborate with Risk Management, Finance, and Operations.
o Act as a liaison between IT and business stakeholders.
Budget and Resource Management:
o Manage the Credit Risk IT budget.
o Oversee vendor relationships and contracts.
Monitor industry trends and best practices.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Values:
Education:
o Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IT, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
o Master degree or MBA is highly desirable.
Certifications:
o CFA, FRM, PRM, PMP, ITIL certifications are advantageous.
Industry Experience:
o Minimum of 10 years in credit risk management with a focus on IT solutions.
o Proven senior leadership experience in financial services.
Technical Expertise:
o Experience in developing and implementing credit risk models – preferably using FIS Adaptiv or
Murex.
o Proficiency in advanced analytics and data management technologies – preferably using Java
Leadership and Management:
o Ability to lead and manage high-performing teams.
o Experience in strategic planning and execution.
Project Management:
o Experience in managing large-scale IT projects.
Communication and Collaboration:
o Proven ability to collaborate across departments.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
o Track record of driving innovation.
o Ability to stay current with industry trends.
o Flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
o Openness to new ideas and approaches.
