Job description

We are seeking a Head of Corporate Governance to join Sirona care & health's Governance team. This is a key leadership role, responsible for strengthening and embedding excellent governance practices across the organisation.

Reporting to the Director of Governance, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that the Board, its Committees, the Executive Team, and the Management Executive Team receive professional, effective and efficient administrative and governance support.

You will provide expert advice to the Board and senior managers on all matters relating to corporate governance, supporting compliance with statutory, regulatory, and organisational requirements.

As the Head of Corporate Governance, you will lead the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of governance systems and processes to ensure Sirona continues to operate at the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and best practice.

You will also deputise for the Director of Governance as required and lead the Corporate Governance Team.

Responsibilities
  • Line manage and provide leadership and development to the members of the Corporate Governance Team, identifying opportunities to maximise performance. Ensure that the Team are up-to-date with Mandatory Training requirements.
  • Provide support through objective setting, appraisal and agreement of personal development plans to all direct reports and other staff, as required.
  • Work on specific pieces of work on behalf of the Director of Corporate Governance, as required.
  • Provide advice on corporate governance and policy management to Directors (Executive and Non‑Executive) and Divisional Teams as required, and proactively identify when more support is required and implement actions as necessary.
  • Take a proactive role in the management of the corporate function working closely with colleagues to ensure that governance is embedded within activities and that there is shared learning.
  • Ensure managed staff in the Services work within the requirements of the European Working Time Directive.
  • Promote a culture where staff feel empowered and accountable.
  • Deputise for the Director of Governance in their absence or as required.
