Job summary

QED Legal LLP in London seeks an experienced Head of Compliance to lead its risk and regulatory function in a senior role. As COLP/MLRO, you will own the compliance framework and collaborate with Partners and senior management.

You will oversee AML, sanctions, ethics, conflicts and accounts rules, developing policies and monitoring programmes while guiding internal investigations and regulatory interactions.

Qualifications

• Senior legal risk or compliance leadership experience.
• Deep knowledge of SRA Standards and Regulations, AML requirements and sanctions frameworks.
• COLP/MLRO experience preferred.

Responsibilities

We're working with a fabulous established London law firm looking to appoint an experienced Head of Compliance to lead its risk and regulatory function.

This is a senior leadership position where you’ll act as the firm’s COLP and MLRO, taking ownership of the overall compliance framework and working closely with the Partners and senior management.

The role?

• Leading the firm’s compliance function across AML, sanctions and SRA regulation
• Managing the firm’s relationship with the SRA and other regulatory bodies
• Advising on conflicts, ethics, confidentiality and accounts rules
• Reviewing and developing policies, procedures and monitoring programmes
• Overseeing sanctions compliance, including checks relating to client payments
• Delivering firmwide compliance training
• Monitoring regulatory developments and advising senior stakeholders
• Leading internal investigations, audits and file reviews

About you?

You should have significant experience in a senior legal risk or compliance position, with an in-depth understanding of the SRA Standards and Regulations, AML requirements and sanctions frameworks.

Previous experience acting as a COLP, MLRO or in a comparable compliance leadership role would be highly advantageous.

You’ll also need the confidence and credibility to advise Partners, influence senior stakeholders and provide practical guidance on complex regulatory issues.
