You should be prepared to be accountable for outcomes, with an excellent handle on your brief, and confident in responding to challenge. A highly developed appreciation of the political attention that come with high profile issues will be essential to success.

It's likely that you will have a professional background in regulated services, but it will be leadership skills, political acumen and the capacity to see the interdependencies across multiple service areas that will set you apart as a strong candidate.
