Effective partnership working with community groups, the Police, local landlords and businesses will be vital. You should be prepared to be accountable for outcomes, with an excellent handle on your brief, and confident in responding to challenge. A highly developed appreciation of the political attention that come with high profile issues will be essential to success.
It's likely that you will have a professional background in regulated services, but it will be leadership skills, political acumen and the capacity to see the interdependencies across multiple service areas that will set you apart as a strong candidate.
