Job description

An established fiduciary services provider is looking for a Head of Client Accounting to lead its accounting and bookkeeping team, managing reporting obligations for a complex portfolio of HNW and UHNW clients across multiple jurisdictions.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the accounting and bookkeeping team.
  • Agreeing the annual schedule of accounts to be prepared, including year-end, management and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Monitoring team performance against KPIs and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Reporting monthly to the Operations and Compliance Committee on overdue accounts or policy breaches.
  • Reviewing and approving ledgers prior to external accountant submission.
  • Ensuring externally prepared financial statements and returns are accurate and submitted within jurisdictional deadlines.
  • Preparing quarterly reports for the Board on bookkeeping reconciliations and accounts progress.
  • Sitting on the Tax Committee and assisting with Guernsey income tax returns and related tasks.
  • Providing leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to the accounting and bookkeeping teams.
  • Promoting accuracy, proactive communication, and continuous process improvement.
Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a professionally qualified accountant with extensive experience in fiduciary or trust and corporate client accounting. They will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a methodical and analytical approach, and proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Advanced Excel skills and prior experience with accounting software (such as Acumen) are desirable. A proactive, professional and technically informed attitude is essential.
