Saints Foundation is the charity of Southampton Football Club. We support people in need throughout Southampton, providing life-changing opportunities to help our communities thrive.

What is the role?

This is a job share role, where you’ll work in partnership with our existing Head of Charity Operations to ensure the charity runs smoothly and effectively across all functions. Together, you’ll champion the development of our people, build strong and collaborative relationships with partners and networks across the city, and nurture a culture of learning that helps us demonstrate and grow our impact.

As part of the management team, you’ll share responsibility for driving progress against our strategic objectives, planning how best to use our people and resources, and providing strategic oversight and support to staff. You’ll play a key role in shaping and refining our processes to ensure the charity is equipped for success.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be accountable for the internal operations of Saints Foundation, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to plan effectively, coordinate resources, and deliver on our strategic objectives.

You’ll be accountable for the organisational approach to impact and learning, including our Needs Analysis and Theory of Change, ensuring they are regularly maintained and that all delivery aligns with them. You’ll also lead the production of the annual Impact Report, providing accurate data and clear evidence of our social impact. You’ll work with the Managing Director and Monitoring & Evaluation team to report on performance, deliver the annual insight calendar, and oversee data collection and analysis to measure and improve impact.

You’ll manage budgets and collaborate with the Head of Project Operations to prioritise funding opportunities and support the development of new, community-led project initiatives, whilst working in partnership with the Head of Fundraising and Head of Partnerships to fund our work in other ways. And in partnership with the Legal, Governance and Compliance Manager, you’ll ensure strong operational processes and proactive risk management.

As the lead for our People Strategy, you’ll foster an inclusive, connected culture and guide initiatives that enhance staff learning, wellbeing, and engagement. You’ll also oversee a comprehensive programme of training and events that supports the development, compliance, and wellbeing of all Saints Foundation staff.

Beyond operations, you’ll strengthen relationships across the public and private sectors, ensuring Saints Foundation is well represented and connected across the city. You’ll coordinate our charity support programme with Southampton Football Club and manage key internal projects, maximising opportunities to align the Club’s brand and resources with the Foundation’s goals.

Is this you?

You have significant experience working effectively in a multi-faceted charity in a leadership role, coordinating multiple work streams and implementing strategies to meet set targets. You demonstrate an outstanding ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of people, influencing and collaborating effectively to drive team performance and achieve results.

You have a genuine passion for our cause and a deep connection to the experiences of our beneficiaries. You are experienced in overseeing evaluation methods to generate actionable insights and demonstrate impact, helping to connect stakeholders meaningfully to the cause.

With good financial acumen, you can interpret financial information and identify opportunities for income generation. Above all, you are a people person—committed to fostering a purpose-led culture, developing individuals, and creating opportunities that enhance staff engagement and drive organisational success.
