A regional health trust in England is seeking a Head of Chair and CEO Office to manage corporate governance and support the Board and Chief Executive. We are seeking a dynamic and strategic individual as Head of Chair and CEO Office at Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust. This pivotal role leads our corporate governance function, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory standards, and provides high-level support to the Board, Chair, and Chief Executive. You will manage the Board Assurance Framework, corporate risk registers, and oversee the private office operations. Acting as secretary to the Board and its committees, you will ensure seamless coordination of governance, risk, and executive support. This high-profile role requires discretion, professionalism, and excellent communication skills. This post is full-time, Monday to Friday, 09:0017:00, but at times there may be requirements to work flexible to meet the demands of the post. The postholder will be based at Kings Court 2, however there will be travel across the two counties and at times flexibility to work from home.
The banding for this post is currently subject to approval. Please note the Trust is unable to provide sponsorship to work for this role, to apply you must have current right to work in the UK status.
The main duties of the role include coordinating the Chair and CEO`s private office, managing diaries, emails, and team oversight. Prepare and support Board and committee meetings, including agendas, minutes, and action tracking. Maintain the Board Assurance Framework and corporate risk registers. Provide governance advice and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory standards. Liaise with senior leaders, regulators, and external bodies. Lead a small team, promoting professionalism and development. Present complex information clearly and confidently. Manage budgets and ensure effective use of resources. Handle sensitive information with discretion. Support Board member induction and development.
