The Advocate Group is exclusively partnering with a GBP500m+ UK trading business with a long-standing heritage and a broad product portfolio spanning office, facilities, seasonal, lifestyle, and general merchandise categories.

The business operates multiple direct-to-consumer websites and marketplaces, including Amazon UK & EU, TikTok Shop, Instagram, Facebook, and eBay, and is experiencing rapid growth in online and social commerce.

They are seeking a Head of Category eTrading to lead category strategy, using marketplace insights, trend analysis, and performance data to identify high-potential products and maximise commercial performance across all channels. This is a hands‑on, strategic role, working closely with the Buying Team to define product ranges, optimise assortment, and drive sales and margin growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver category strategies for core, seasonal, and spot‑buy ranges
  • Analyse marketplace and social commerce data to identify trends, best‑sellers, and opportunities
  • Create tailored product plans for Amazon UK/EU, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, eBay, and OnBuy
  • Partner with the Buying Team to source and launch products at the right specification and price
  • Own the category P&L, presenting actionable insights to senior leadership
Candidate Profile:
  • Experience in Category Management, Trading, or Buying (eCommerce or Retail)
  • Strong knowledge of Amazon Marketplace and social commerce platforms
  • Commercially minded with a track record of driving sales and margin growth
  • Skilled in data analysis and turning insights into actionable strategies
  • Collaborative and able to influence across cross‑functional teams
