Job summary

Mitchells & Butlers is seeking a Head of Building Development for the Restaurants Division. You will lead a team of Building Development Managers and oversee the annual capital investment programme across a nationwide estate, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

The role requires strong stakeholder engagement with Operations, Property, Procurement, Finance, Brand and Design, plus a track record in cost control and value engineering across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction, development or project delivery.
• Experience leading multi-site capital programmes and stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Building Development Managers, ensuring adherence to processes and standards.
• Deliver divisional capital plan across all investment types.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to quality standards.
• Forecast annual capital expenditure budgets with robust financial control.
• Build relationships with contractors, consultants, suppliers and manufacturers to drive value.
• Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and value engineering while maintaining brand standards.
• Maintain accountability for Brand Design Guides and benchmark specifications.
• Align procurement activities with strategy and governance.
• Lead health, safety and compliance across projects.
• Drive continuous improvement through best practices and efficient delivery models.
