Responsibilities
  • Use data and insight to manage your portfolio of products through the full product lifecycle—from new product development, in‑life optimisation to product closure—delivering products that deliver positive customer outcomes and drive commercial growth.
  • Work collaboratively with Value Streams/Product Owners to ensure all technical changes are prioritised in line with the Bank's methodology and aligned to the Bank's strategy.
  • Own risk, controls, conduct and customer outcomes for your portfolio of products, working collaboratively with the Head of Delivery & Controls plus first and second line risk teams.
  • Ensure that key processes within the team are clearly documented in line with the Bank's standards.
  • Drive a positive risk culture in the team, ensuring decisions are taken that understand and appropriately mitigate the risks associated with the decision and ultimately drive good customer outcomes.
  • Drive a culture of collaboration across the Banking product team and the wider stakeholder ecosystem to ensure the best outcomes for colleagues and customers through a robust engagement and challenge process.
  • Lead and coach a team of Senior Product Managers and Product Managers.
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of trends and opportunities, via customer research and market analysis.
  • Embrace a risk‑aware culture: do the right thing for customers, colleagues and Metro Bank and have the ability to call out any concerns.
Qualifications
  • Strong commercial understanding and management skills; able to create compelling business cases.
  • Confident at decision making and problem solving, ensuring you take account of different perspectives while assessing and controlling risk.
  • Experienced at coaching and mentoring colleagues in product management practices, leading from the front by example.
  • Line‑management experience.
  • Able to work with third‑party analytical tools (e.g. PowerBI) and Excel to provide insight.
  • Deep understanding of Personal and Business Current Accounts and Savings markets and customer needs.
  • Understand the risks associated with your role and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all stakeholders.
Benefits

Our promise to you… We will make sure that you are well‑rewarded by providing you with a competitive salary, discretionary annual bonus, and a wide range of benefits, including generous holiday allowance, attractive pension scheme, healthcare, life assurance, and a number of colleague discounts. We will give you the training to ensure you succeed in your role and plenty of internal opportunities to progress your career (around 40% of our recruitment comes from internal promotions!).

Equal Opportunities

Diverse teams really are the best teams. We know that candidates (especially women) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box. We also know that 'normal' office hours aren't always doable, and while we can't accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked. If you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren't sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl?
