Job description
Head of Audiology

The closing date is 09 January 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Audiology professional to lead our established, multi‑site service. You will have the chance to drive service development, support IQIPS accreditation, and provide senior clinical leadership across Adult and Paediatric Audiology Services.

Our service offers a broad clinical portfolio, including Adult and Paediatric Audiology, ENT support and Vestibular assessments. You will lead a skilled senior team of Team Leads, Senior Clinicians, and administrative colleagues, all working collaboratively across three main hospital sites and local community hospitals. Guided by our Trust values of Kindness, Respect, and Collaboration, you will be fully supported by an experienced operational and clinical leadership team, ensuring you can focus on strategic leadership, service improvement, clinical quality, and staff development without the pressure of managing every detail alone.

Operating across three main hospital sites Worcestershire Royal Hospital, the Alexandra Hospital (Redditch), and Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre and community hospitals, the Trust serves thousands of people across Worcestershire.

As part of the directorate senior leadership team alongside the Operational Manager, Clinical Director, and Matron you will have real opportunities to influence service strategy, implement innovation, and shape the future of Audiology across Worcestershire.

Main duties of the job

Responsible and accountable for the Audiology Service provided by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust, the postholder will be a highly developed and experienced post‑graduate qualified Audiologist, Hearing Therapist or Clinical Scientist (Audiology) and will manage the clinical service, strategic planning, staff allocation, management and training, clinical governance, research and development, finance, and quality assurance for the service. Accountable to the Deputy Director of Operations (Surgery), the postholder will ensure that a consistently high‑quality complex and sophisticated clinical service is provided, meeting the highest national and international standards. The post holder will be responsible for Training and Supervision within the department, and for performance against DM01 and RTT.

We encourage flexible working and will work with the successful candidate to support them to have greater choice in when, where and how they work. As a Trust we support a range of flexible working arrangements and are committed to supporting colleagues to achieve work‑life balance. Our Trust is split across a wide geographical area and the successful candidate will need to be able to travel independently to our 3 sites (Worcester, Redditch and Kidderminster) as well as regularly being present to manage the operational running of the departments.
