Job description
Head of Asset Strategy - Hedyn

📍 Agile/Flexible (regular attendance at Hedyn's offices)

💷 £75,316 per annum

Panoramic Associates are delighted to be partnering exclusively with Hedyn on a retained basis to recruit a Head of Asset Strategy - a senior leadership opportunity within their Property & Place Directorate.

Hedyn is Wales' newest housing association, created to deliver exceptional customer service while building award-winning, sustainable homes and communities across all tenures. This is a forward-thinking and ambitious organisation, with a clear purpose: to use its assets and financial capacity to empower positive change where it is most needed.

As Head of Asset Strategy, you will take strategic responsibility for the long-term management and investment of Hedyn's property portfolio. You will lead the asset strategy team to ensure data, insight, and intelligence underpin all investment decisions. You will oversee the production of regulatory returns, develop the decarbonisation roadmap, and identify future regeneration opportunities. Your work will directly influence the prioritisation of capital investment, supporting both sustainability and value for money across a 30-year business plan.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the strategic direction and delivery of Hedyn's asset management function.
  • Ensuring robust asset data collection, reporting, and insight to drive informed investment decisions.
  • Developing and implementing the asset management strategy in line with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities for regeneration, decarbonisation, and affordable warmth initiatives.
  • Collaborating with other directorates to align asset strategy with broader organisational priorities.
  • Overseeing performance monitoring, risk management, and reporting to the Executive Team.
  • Leading, motivating, and developing the asset strategy team to achieve high performance.
  • Managing budgets, resources, and external contractors to ensure cost-effective delivery.
  • Providing assurance to the Executive Team and Board regarding asset performance, compliance, and long-term investment planning.
  • Ensuring strategic alignment with Welsh Government priorities, the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act, and national sustainability targets.
About you:
  • You will be an experienced and strategic leader with a strong background in asset management, investment planning, or housing strategy. You will bring:
  • Proven experience leading teams in a complex housing or property environment.
  • Strong expertise in data analysis and evidence-based decision-making.
  • A track record of developing and delivering long-term investment strategies.
  • Excellent collaboration, influencing, and communication skills.
  • The confidence to provide assurance to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • A degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.

This is a rare opportunity to join a housing association at a pivotal stage of growth and transformation, shaping the long-term strategy for almost 15,000 homes and ensuring that investment, sustainability, and community impact are at the heart of everything Hedyn does.
