Job summary

Alleyn’s Oakfield in South London seeks a passionate Head of Art to cover a maternity leave. The role focuses on leading and delivering a rich Art and Design curriculum for Key Stage 2 in a creative, supportive primary setting.

The successful candidate will enhance the existing curriculum, mentor staff, and drive opportunities for creativity, enquiry and high standards across the school. This is a part-time, fixed-term post (0.6 FTE) from Jan 7 to Dec 15, 2027.

Qualifications

• Head of Art with substantial experience in primary education.
• Strong leadership and curriculum development skills.
• Ability to inspire pupils across Key Stage 2.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of a rich Art and Design curriculum across KS2.
• Oversee Art and Design development and assessment.
• Cover maternity leave on a part-time basis (0.6 FTE) and collaborate with staff.
