About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head of AI Product Delivery to lead the complete software development and product delivery function across our growing portfolio of technology-led ventures. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for the entire software development lifecycle and the teams that deliver it, from initial business requirements and product definition through project management, business analysis, UI/UX, software engineering, QA, testing, deployment and continuous improvement.

You will directly lead the functions involved in software delivery, including Project Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, UI/UX, Software Engineering, QA, Testing, DevOps and related technology teams. The role combines people leadership, product and software delivery, organisational development, stakeholder management, AI innovation and technology strategy. You will be accountable for ensuring that our teams are structured effectively, that our products are delivered to a consistently high standard and that the organisation continues to evolve alongside developments in AI and the wider technology market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle across multiple ventures and products.
  • Manage the teams responsible for requirements, planning, product definition, UI/UX, development, QA, testing, deployment and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain clear visibility across roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, risks and delivery commitments.
  • Ensure software delivery remains aligned with business priorities, stakeholder expectations and commercial objectives.
  • Identify delivery issues early and take corrective action where projects, teams or individuals are falling behind expectations.
  • Ensure multiple products and ventures can progress simultaneously without compromising quality or accountability.
People & Organisational Leadership:
  • Lead and manage the overall software delivery organisation.
  • Review and reshape team structures as the portfolio and business continue to grow.
  • Establish clear ownership, accountability and responsibilities across all functions.
  • Develop managers and senior team members and ensure appropriate leadership exists within each area.
  • Identify capability, performance and communication issues and address them effectively.
  • Build a culture focused on ownership, collaboration, high standards and continuous improvement.
Recruitment & Talent Development:
  • Own workforce planning across the software organisation.
  • Identify current and future capability gaps and define recruitment requirements.
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition throughout the hiring process.
  • Take an active role in recruiting key and senior positions.
  • Ensure hiring decisions consider communication, ownership, judgement and teamwork alongside role-specific expertise.
  • Identify training and development requirements across teams.
  • Develop or coordinate appropriate learning programmes to ensure teams remain current with evolving technologies, AI capabilities and software delivery practices.
  • Maintain strong awareness of developments across AI, software platforms, development tooling, architecture, automation and the wider technology market.
  • Regularly assess emerging technologies that could improve existing products or create opportunities for future ventures.
  • Evaluate new tools, platforms, APIs and approaches based on practical business value, delivery impact and cost.
  • Encourage structured experimentation, testing and proof-of-concept work where appropriate.
  • Ensure useful developments discovered within one venture are considered across the wider portfolio.
  • Continuously challenge existing systems, processes and approaches where better alternatives become available.
  • Help shape the long-term technology direction of the organisation.
Product Quality & Governance:

Ensure that appropriate standards, expertise and accountability are in place across areas including:

  • Security and data protection
  • Software architecture
  • Scalability
  • Performance and reliability
  • UI and UX quality
  • Accessibility and compatibility
  • QA and testing
  • DevOps and deployment
  • Monitoring and operational resilience
  • Maintainability and technical debt
  • Cloud infrastructure
  • AI implementation
  • Integrations and APIs
  • Documentation
  • Technology and operational costs

You will be accountable for ensuring that the organisation has the right people and processes in place to consistently deliver high-quality software products.

Business & Stakeholder Management:
  • Work closely with Directors, venture leadership, internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure business requirements are clearly understood and translated into achievable product and delivery plans.
  • Maintain strong communication between Project Managers, Business Analysts, technology teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve communication, ownership or expectation gaps before they affect delivery.
  • Communicate progress, risks, constraints and priorities clearly to senior leadership.
  • Challenge requirements constructively where they introduce unnecessary complexity, cost or risk.
  • Ensure stakeholders have clear and transparent visibility of delivery.
  • Ensure technology decisions consider long-term commercial sustainability.
  • Maintain awareness of major costs across cloud infrastructure, AI usage, APIs, software licences and third-party services.
  • Identify opportunities to reuse technology and capabilities across ventures.
  • Reduce unnecessary duplication and improve efficiency across the portfolio.
About You

We are looking for an experienced technology and product delivery leader with a strong understanding of the complete software development lifecycle and a proven ability to manage people, delivery and organisational change.

You should have:
