Job summary

AHDB in Coventry is seeking a Head of Policy to lead the Economics and Analysis directorate. You will shape policy thinking across agriculture, food, land and environment, and influence levy payers by delivering evidence-based insights.

You will work with the Chief Economist and senior stakeholders, lead a policy team, and deliver high-quality analysis to inform decision making. Regular UK travel and hybrid working are required.

Qualifications

• Significant policy, economic or strategic analysis experience in agriculture or related sectors.
• Proven leadership of high-performing teams delivering strategic objectives.
• Strong knowledge of UK agricultural and food supply chains, policy frameworks and market dynamics.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders across government, industry and trade bodies.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills to translate complex issues into clear recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead AHDB’s policy development and shape positions on agricultural issues.
• Build influential relationships with government, industry and trade bodies.
• Ensure policy, economic analysis and market intelligence outputs are aligned.
• Provide strategic insight into industry challenges and long-term trends.
• Lead and develop the Policy team with a culture of excellence.
• Oversee delivery of high-quality policy and economic analysis projects.
• Represent AHDB at industry events and stakeholder forums.
• Deputise for the Chief Economist when required; contribute to leadership of Economics and Analysis.
• Travel across the UK as required.
