About The Role

To identify and build deep rooted positive relationships with Local Authorities, SEN Parental Groups, ancillary bodies, and other potential placement purchasers. To lead the team in pupil referral acquisition, admissions, and transition processes to drive our School occupancy to meet our programme of growth. Evaluating pupil referrals to identify and match the specific and unique needs of the children to the educational, therapeutic, and social opportunities Compass Community Schools offer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network with education professionals and be a keen advocate for Compass Community Schools, building positive relationships with parents and carers seeking specialist provisions for their children and acting as a key contact during early transition stages.
  • Drive our school occupancy in line with our programme of growth.
  • Build strong relationships with headteachers in Compass Schools to enable positive partnership working and pupil transitions.
  • Review pupil consultations considering their identified needs and how these can be best met within our schools.
  • Report on data sets and make strategic decisions with measurable impact on our programme of growth.
  • Present and influence different groups of stakeholders within the organisation and externally.
  • Ensure that pupil placement numbers are maintained in all schools through close liaison with the placement team, engaging with placing authorities, parents, and maintaining regular contact with the headteacher. All schools should achieve and maintain their specified programme of growth.
  • Be accountable for specific project management initiatives to promote excellence in all aspects within the department.
  • Lead and drive the development of new services within the group with the support and guidance of the Director of Education and the placements and commercial team.
  • Role model, lead and manage resources to ensure that the schools adhere to the highest possible standards.
  • Drive identified projects for the development of the service, with overall responsibility and accountability for their outcomes.

Experience Essential
  • Experience in working within either a specialist educational setting, or in a SEN role in a school or local authority environment.
  • Experience driving pupil admissions or similar processes from referral acquisition through to supported transition; analysing and creating critical data to gather and inform quality performance indicators and strategic development.
  • Experience as a Headteacher or in leadership.
  • Track record of excellent interpersonal skills when working with teams and individuals.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work within set time frames and follow agreed systems and processes.
  • Must be highly motivated, passionate and determined.
  • Highly organised with exceptional relationship building skills.
Desirable
  • Experience within the independent sector.
Education, Training and Qualifications Essential
  • Degree or above and Qualified Teaching Status.
