Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Head Housekeeper to lead a dedicated housekeeping team in a care home setting. The role is 30 hours per week, with a focus on kindness, safety, and maintaining a spotless, comfortable home for residents.

You will manage the cleaning rota, oversee laundry, ensure infection control and COSHH procedures are followed, and support staff to deliver compassionate, high-quality care every day. This role requires a full right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping and team leadership.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and infection control.
• Friendly, positive and kind in conversations and tasks.
• Ability to recognise safeguarding concerns and report issues.
• Safeguarding training completed.

About the role — As a Head Housekeeper at HC‑One, you’ll value one thing above all: kindness. Your aim is to create a safe, clean, and comfortable home where residents feel respected and cared for.

This 30‑hour per week role requires you to lead a housekeeping team to maintain spotless standards, keeping residents’ first in every decision.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the cleaning rota and daily schedules
• Lead by example and support the housekeeping team
• Oversee laundry for personal and shared items
• Order cleaning products and supplies
• Follow and update infection control procedures
• Maintain records and complete cleaning checks
• Ensure safety and COSHH guidelines are met; plan ahead but also jump in when required

Qualifications & Personal Qualities

Experience in housekeeping and team leadership, strong organisational skills, knowledge of Health & Safety and infection control. Must be friendly, positive and kind in every conversation and task. Ability to recognise safeguarding concerns and report issues appropriately is required.

All staff will receive safeguarding training, and you must complete all associated training.
