Job summary

Linley Farm in Bishop’s Castle is seeking a Head Grower to lead the organic vegetable operation across a 2.5-acre walled garden and a 5-acre field-scale area. You will manage propagation, crop planning, and logistics, while driving sales to local chefs and wholesalers.

The role requires a strong leader with experience in budgeting, record-keeping and organic farming practices; some accommodation may be available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a team and strong communication and coordination skills.
• Confident in crop planning, seed ordering, and record keeping.
• Full, clean UK driving licence and access to own vehicle due to rural location.

Responsibilities

• General organic growing duties: harvesting, packing, weeding, seeding, maintenance, seed saving, paperwork and communicating with customers.
• Lead on sales and logistics to drive the business forward.
• Plan crops and schedules for walled garden (250 beds) and field-scale crops; adapt to weather and customer needs.
• Coordinate with estate team and managers, manage orders, invoicing and budgeting.
