Head Cook | Didcot | Part Time (25 hours per week, Term-Time Only) | £16.50 per hour

Are you a passionate and experienced cook seeking a rewarding role where you can make a meaningful impact?

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Head Cook to lead their kitchen and provide delicious, nutritious meals for the children in a welcoming school setting.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Proven experience as a Cook, Chef, or Head Cook, ideally in a school, catering, or large-scale environment
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work efficiently under pressure
  • A genuine passion for healthy eating and providing nutritious meals for children
  • Able to lead and support a small kitchen team
  • Can demonstrate excellent standards of hygiene, food safety, and compliance

What will your role look like?

As the Head Cook, you will take the lead in running the daily operation of the kitchen. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and cooking fresh meals each day to a high standard
  • Supervising one kitchen team member, creating a positive and efficient work environment
  • Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimising waste
  • Maintaining hygiene, health and safety, and food storage standards at all times
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant school and food safety policies
