Job summary

Mitchells & Butlers PLC, home of Harvester, invites culinary professionals to join a Head Chef in Training programme.

Based in your district and with access to onsite accommodation, you will lead a kitchen team, drive performance, and complete a six‑month training plan to deliver the Mitchells & Butlers way.

You’ll gain hands‑on experience across menus, stock control, health and safety, and guest satisfaction, with opportunities to progress to a Head Chef appointment.

Qualifications

• Be a seasoned pro in leading a team and developing a business.
• Be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle.
• Experience in kitchen management or similar role.

• Be driven to smash targets with your team driving sales and guest satisfaction.
• Manage food ordering, food preparation and stock control.
• Oversee that your team conforms to health and hygiene regulations.

Do you have experience of leading a team to success in the kitchen and fancy making a move? Or maybe you fancy bringing your kitchen management skills to the pub and restaurant business.

WHAT DO I NEED?

You’ll…

• Be a seasoned pro in leading a team and developing a business.
• You may be currently working as a commercial catering manager, school kitchen manager, care home head chef, sous chef, deputy kitchen manager or the manager of an independent business or equivalent.
• Be able to drive, in order to support business in your district whilst training.
