Job summary

Avon Search is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen team in a York care home. You will plan and prepare nutritious meals, meet dietary requirements, and manage stock while maintaining high hygiene standards.

The role requires strong leadership, the ability to train staff, and a commitment to delivering excellent dining experiences for residents. 8am-6pm shifts, 3 on/off rota, 35 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Head Chef or experienced Senior Chef.
• Passionate about cooking quality food and creating varied menus.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, safety and special dietary requirements.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• Reliable, positive and able to work independently.
• Committed to providing residents with an excellent dining experience.

The Role

• Fixed 3 days on, 3 days off rolling rota.

Important:

The 3-on, 3-off rota is a strict requirement and cannot be negotiated or varied. Applicants must be able to commit fully to this working pattern.
