Job summary

Compass Group UK & Ireland is seeking a Head Chef to lead the catering operation at Kendrew Barracks. The role offers autonomy to run the kitchen, develop a team, and deliver high-quality meals for Service Personnel in a structured environment.

You will manage day-to-day operations, drive food safety and cost controls, and contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining a great work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Head Chef or Senior Chef with contract catering experience.
• Strong leadership and ability to develop and motivate teams.
• Experience in high-volume catering environments.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Head Chef - Kendrew Barracks

We're looking for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our catering operation at Kendrew Barracks. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong people leader who enjoys developing teams, creating great food, and running a well-organised kitchen within a unique military environment.

You’ll have the autonomy to lead your kitchen, inspire your team, and deliver high-quality meals that support Service Personnel every day. This role would suit an ambitious chef with contract catering experience who is looking for stability, work-life balance, and the opportunity to make a genuine difference.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading a motivated kitchen team and creating a positive working environment
