Job summary

Compass Group UK at South Wales Police seeks an experienced Head Chef to lead the on-site kitchen for a busy training environment, delivering breakfast and lunch with occasional hospitality.

Working Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, you’ll mobilise a new contract and own menus, stock, and food costs while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Strong independent work and organisation are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Senior Chef.
• Strong culinary skills and a passion for fresh food.
• Experience managing kitchen administration, stock, and budgets.
• Ability to work independently and manage a kitchen operation.
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving a fresh breakfast and lunch offer.
• Delivering hospitality and event catering as required.
• Managing menus, ordering, stock control, and food costs.

Head Chef - South Wales Police

Salary: £34,974 per annum

Monday to Friday | 7:00am - 3:30pm | New Contract Mobilisation

We're looking for an experienced Head Chef to join our catering operation at South Wales Police as part of an exciting mobilisation launching on 12th October.

Based within a busy police training environment with approximately 800 people on site, you'll take full ownership of the kitchen, delivering a high-quality breakfast and lunch offer alongside occasional hospitality and event catering.

This is a standalone chef role, ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in producing great food, and can confidently manage all aspects of a kitchen operation.

What you'll be doing
