Job summary

Forty Eight is a speciality coffee and all-day brunch cafe in London. We are looking for a head barista to own the bar, dial in every coffee, train the team, and manage equipment and stock. You will work with the owners on seasonal specials and help grow our coffee program as our retail range expands.

Pay is £14–£15 per hour, full-time (35–40 hours over 5 days, daytime only). Perks include free food and coffee on shift, with immediate start available.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in speciality coffee
• Confident dialing in espresso and training others
• Solid latte art
• Calm and quick when it's busy
• Good with regulars

Responsibilities

• Own the bar and keep drinks consistent during busy periods.
• Dial in every coffee and train/develop the barista team.
• Look after the machine and grinders, manage stock and ordering.
• Work with owners on seasonal specials and growth of the coffee program.

Job description

Forty Eight is a speciality coffee and all-day brunch cafe at 308 King Street, Chiswick. We're open 7am to 6pm every day - no evenings - and we serve our own Forty Eight coffee range alongside a busy brunch menu. The coffee is the heart of the place: a house espresso, rotating single origins and a proper Swiss Water decaf, each one released only when it tastes right.

Responsibilities

We're looking for a head barista to own the bar. Day to day that means dialling in every coffee and keeping drinks consistent through a packed weekend service, training and developing the barista team, looking after the machine and grinders, and managing coffee stock and ordering. You'll work directly with the owners on seasonal specials (matcha and signature lattes do big numbers here) and you'll have a real say in the coffee program as our retail range grows.

Requirements

What we're looking for: at least 2 years in speciality coffee, confident dialling in espresso and training others, solid latte art, calm and quick when it's busy, and good with regulars - we have a lot of them.

Pay and hours

Pay is 14-15 per hour depending on experience, plus tips. Full time, 35-40 hours over 5 days including weekends. Daytime hours only - we close at 6pm. Free food and coffee on shift. Start as soon as possible.
