GP World is seeking a Phlebotomist for Health Checks and Phlebotomy in Swindon. The role involves performing phlebotomy and basic health checks within a six days-a-week service. The schedule is shift-based across weekdays and weekends, with precise start times per day.

Training and start date details are provided in the ad. Applicants must have at least 1 year of blood-drawing experience and be able to input measurements and results into the system accurately.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year blood-drawing experience (validated by competency checklist).
• Ability to take height, weight, waist, blood pressure and heart rate and input data accurately.
• Experience labeling and preparing blood samples for courier.
• Strong communication and ability to provide guidance to participants.

Responsabilités

• Re-confirm participant details before appointment.
• Record height, weight, waist, BP and heart rate; input data.
• Label and prepare 2 blood samples for courier travel.
• Monitor participant welfare and escalate as needed.
• Offer signposting, advice and guidance to participants.

HCA Phlebotomist for Health Checks & Phlebotomy – £17 - 25 per hour

Location: Swindon

Shift Pattern:

• Monday –Friday - 0750 - 1810
• Saturday – 0850 - 1710
• Sunday - 1050 - 1555

To start 20th November 2026

Requirements:

• Responsible for re-confirming participant details before commencement of appointment
• Responsible for completing height, weight and waist measurements captured; taking heart rate and blood pressure checks and inputting result data on the system
• Responsible for drawing the two blood samples, labelling and storing correctly in fixed and mobile locations
• Checking the welfare of the participant throughout the appointment, escalating as required
• Offering signposting, advice and guidance to participants as relevant
• Responsible for preparing boxes containing samples to be collected by the courier
• Minimum of one year’s active experience drawing blood (as validated through competency checklist and references during recruitment process)

Background:

• Over 1,000,000 participants over the age of 18
• A six days per week service, running Monday to Sunday, linked to laboratory opening hours, and open from 07:50 to 18:10 to ensure maximum accessibility to participants
• The service will be delivered across various regions in Wales & Scotland, (details of our chosen locations are outlined above) comprising of mobile sites & moving vehicle services
• A 15-minute appointment per participant, inclusive of:
  • Confirming participant identity
  • Verifying participant consent
  • Completing the following tests: Blood pressure measures and heart rate (x2); height (cm); weight (kg); waist circumference (cm)
  • Obtaining venous blood draw (2 x 6 ml EDTA samples)
  • Providing the participant with any information based on tests undertaken (where applicable).
