Job summary

Woodland Logistics are recruiting a Transport Operator in Barnsley with a background in contract logistics and haulage to be based at a customer site. The Transport Operator will report to the Contract Manager to support the transport team and general operation by providing an efficient and effective administrative service and assisting in general transport planning and driver management duties.

This role involves maintaining records, processing orders and invoices, and coordinating with drivers

• Background in haulage industry essential.

Responsibilities

• Understand administrative requirements per service agreement, policy, and legislation.
• Input data for accurate, orderly records (vehicle servicing, training, defects, tyre tread, holidays).
• Collect and input data for operational reports.
• Assist with purchase orders, PODs and invoices processing.
• Support transport team in liaising with driver agencies and covering driver needs.
• Assist in transport planning and liaising with customers and clients.
• Issue work, handle queries, and conduct de-briefs with drivers.
• Develop understanding of operation, transport planning and related legislation.
• Build relationships with transport team, fleet, customers and suppliers.
• Promote Company policy and procedures.
• Work on ad-hoc projects as required.
