Job summary

Avara Foods in the UK is seeking a Hatchery Transport Manager to lead transport operations across five hatcheries, ensuring safe, compliant and cost-effective movement of day-old chicks, hatching eggs and hatchery supplies. You will oversee fleet performance, driver management, route planning and biosecurity, coordinating with sites and external partners to deliver on service levels.

The role is Monday to Friday 07:30–16:00 with travel across sites and on-call support for operational issues,

Qualifications

• Experience managing a transport operation.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation and fleet management.
• Ability to develop and implement transport schedules and budgets.
• Ability to lead and develop operational teams and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all transport operations are conducted safely and in accordance with legislation.
• Investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Promote driver wellbeing and safe driving practices.
• Review best practice and standardise transport across hatcheries.
• Oversee daily transport activities and develop schedules for timely delivery.
