Job summary

North Yorkshire Council in Harrogate is seeking an Operations Assistant to support the Operations Officer across our Integrated Passenger Transport team. You will help manage passenger transport requests, supervise drivers and passenger assistants, and ensure accurate scheduling and timely information is provided to crews.

The role involves advising on rotas, incidents, and service standards, with a focus on safe, reliable operation and cost-effective fleet management.

Responsibilities

• Support the Operations Officer in responding to transport requests from colleagues and customers.
• Deputise for the Operations Officer to supervise drivers and passenger assistants.
• Provide daily operational advice on rotas, scheduling changes, incidents, and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate vehicle schedules and monitor them for cost-effective, reliable operation.
• Distribute passenger information and care plans to ensure crews have correct details.
• Ensure vehicles carry adequate stocks of sundries and equipment.
