Overview

Northumbria Healthcare is investing in new technology to transform how we deliver care. The multi-million pound programme aims to deliver robust and resilient services. An opportunity has arisen for a Hardware Support Officer to join the Digital Services Team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Based at the Manufacturing and Innovation Hub premises in Seaton Delaval, the role provides on-site hardware and systems support and will service Trust sites including North Tyneside General Hospital, Hexham General Hospital and the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington.

Responsibilities

• Plan, install, maintain, and upgrade hardware equipment across Trust sites to ensure optimal workstation performance.
• Install, update, and troubleshoot Trust-approved software in a timely and accurate manner; provide end-user assistance as necessary.
• Resolve incidents and work orders recorded by the Service Desk; support other teams with project rollouts and maintenance.
• Lead a small hardware team in the delivery and installation of equipment to key Trust hospitals and community sites within a corporate IT environment.
• Regularly liaise with internal service delivery teams and external third-party suppliers; maintain strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Deliver a customer-focused support service to end users; manage workload to meet SLAs.
• Provide onsite support to VIPs and staff; maintain and support agile devices; work within the Trust IM&T security policy.
• Maintain and update an asset database and documentation; track the lifetime of IT assets within the Trust.
• Order, install, and configure new IT equipment; support staff training and development; participate in on-call rota and team meetings.
• Demonstrate core values and behaviours; contribute to a collective leadership culture within the Trust.

Qualifications

• Essential: European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or equivalent knowledge
• Essential: Diploma level qualification or equivalent experience
• Essential: HNC in PC/desktop support related discipline or equivalent experience
