Job summary

Verso Recruitment Group is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer in the Newcastle area, with a hybrid 3/2 split. You will own electronics design for new products and become the go-to expert on core technologies.

You will lead internal and external project teams, design circuits for production, and work with the wider engineering team to keep the roadmap current by researching new technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience in schematic capture and PCB layout for analog/digital designs.
• MEng in Electronic Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Ability to lead and motivate multiple projects simultaneously.
• Confident communicating with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Design circuit schematics and PCB layouts for new products.
• Collaborate with engineering to transition designs into production.
• Lead internal/external project teams, including subcontractors, and engage customers as needed.

Hardware Design Engineer

? Newcastle Area | Hybrid 3/2 split

I'm working with an established electronics business who design and build their own products in-house. They're after a Hardware Design Engineer to support new product development someone who can own the electronics design and grow into the go-to expert on their core technologies.

Small, fast-paced engineering team covering R&D, product development and new product introduction. You'd be leading projects, not just contributing to them.

What you'll be doing

• Designing new products - circuit design, schematic capture and PCB layout
• Working closely with the wider engineering team to get products into production
• Leading internal and external project teams, including subcontractors, and dealing with customers where needed
• Researching new technologies to keep the product roadmap current

What they're after

• Experience in a similar role, strong across schematic capture, PCB layout, analogue and digital circuit design, microcontrollers and simulation
• MEng in Electronic Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Someone who can lead and motivate, and juggle several projects at once
• Confident talking to technical and non-technical people alike
• Diligent, detail-driven, and genuinely bothered about hitting milestones
